The deal between you and us.
These Terms govern your use of FlightEdge, a scenario-based training product for pilots operated by ClearQuery, Inc. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. Last updated 2026-07-13.
1. The service
FlightEdge provides scenario-based training for pilots — student through ATP. Scenarios are built from public aviation safety records (NTSB, NASA ASRS, FAA), synthesized with AI assistance and our own editorial work, and every scenario cites its source record. We may add, remove, or modify scenarios and features at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use FlightEdge.
3. Your account
You can sign in with Google or with your email. You're responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or as required by law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Use FlightEdge in a way that endangers anyone's safety in actual flight.
- Represent FlightEdge's output as a flight plan, weather brief, or operational authorization.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract content for republication or competing services.
- Upload viruses, malware, or content that violates intellectual property, defamation, or hate-speech laws.
- Use the service to harass other users or staff.
5. Pedagogical disclaimer
FlightEdge scenarios are AI-synthesized from public aviation safety records plus our own editorial review. While we make significant effort to verify accuracy, we cannot guarantee that every scenario detail, V-speed, regulatory citation, or aircraft specification is current and correct for your specific aircraft on the specific day of your flight. Scenarios are training discussions, not procedures. Verify everything against current FAA publications, your aircraft's Pilot Operating Handbook, current NOTAMs, and the judgment of a qualified CFI before any flight operation.
6. Content ownership
- Our content. Scenarios, teaching points, visuals, and software are owned by ClearQuery, Inc. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use them for your own training.
- Your content. Your decisions and responses are yours. We have a limited license to host them and to use aggregated, de-identified versions (for example, the "how other pilots decided" split shown after a scenario) to run and improve the product.
- Public source data. NTSB, ASRS, AIDS, and FAA registry records are public-domain or licensed for use under their respective terms. We attribute every scenario to its source.
7. Payment
FlightEdge is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we'll say so clearly before you're charged anything — nothing converts to paid silently.
8. Termination
Either side can terminate at any time. On termination we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, governing law) will.
9. Disclaimers
FLIGHTEDGE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLEARQUERY, INC., ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR USD $100 IF YOU HAVEN'T PAID).
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ClearQuery, Inc. against claims arising from your use of the service in violation of these Terms, including any flight operation conducted in reliance on the product without the additional verification a competent PIC would perform.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated to account holders by email, and we'll post the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
